Any Muckles from 1780 onwards in or around
Chatton. My earliest ancestor is Thomas
Muckle b. abt 1783, d. 1835 married to Ann Burn (1787-1822) father James Burn b. 1750ish d. 1840, married to Alice). They are all on the monumental inscriptions for
Chatton.
Thomas & Ann had 6 children (James 1807, Charles 1811(from whom I am descended), Thomas 1813, John 1816, Alice 1818, James 1820, Robert 1810).
Thomas then married Elizabeth (1805-1840) and had a further 9 children (Margaret 1825, William
Anderson 1826, George 1827,
Archibald 1828, Jane 1831, Peter 1832, Edward 1833, Andrew 1833, Jane 1836).
Most of the children were baptised in the Presbyterian Church in
Wooler, but there must be additional records in
Chatton. I would appreciate any mentions of Muckles and I will piece it all together.
If you are interested I have the 1851 census for
Glendale parts 1 & 2 (covering
Chatton, etc and up to Lowick) and have the 1881 on CD-Rom if I can help to repay in kind.
Also, I am also delving into another of my families, the Ords. The earliest I have is Thomas
Ord b. 1804 in Doddington, married to
Isabella b. 1809 in Carham. In 1851 they were in or around Lowick.
Many thanks
