I am searching for the birth place of William Walters who married Abigail Bostock on 14 Sep 1824 at Newark on Trent (St Marys). They had a son Henry Walters who was Chr. at Newark in 1827. Henry & his wife Mary emmigrated to Australia in 1856. William Walters was presumed dead by the 1851 census. I would like to get in touch with anyone who knows or is related to this family.

I could not find anything on William, however, Abigail turns up in the workhouse in Claypole.
There is an Henry that fits the profile you gave, he is in Newark gaol.

Many thanks for replying. Yes, we found Abigail & Henry in the new 1851 census on Ancestry.com. William is the problem. There are a number of them & we can't identify which is his Chr.

I too am looking for William Walters and Abigail Bostock.
They are my 5th Great grandparents.
I have a fair bit of information on them and am awaiting more from a profressional genealogist in the Nottinghamshire region. I know that William must have died before 1857 as i have Abiagails death cert which has her at the East Retford Union and her "occupation" reads Almswoman and Widow.
