My Great Granny was Laura Griffin.
She married James Barnes in 1902.
I am having difficulty in finding her on any of the census, or any records prior to her marriage.
She lived in Norfolk her whole life.

On the 1901 census, there is
Laura Griffen 18 b Southwood Norfolk. Living Yarmouth Southern. General Domestic Servant.

Thanks for replying Dorothy - I had seen that entry and wondered, but it unfortunately doesn't give any more information to go on nor can I find any other records to support it.
However her husband to be was in Burlingham in 1901 (not far from Yarmouth, and next to Southwood where this Laura was born), so it looks like a high possibility.
I think I'm going to have to order a copy of their marriage certificate! - Susan

Hi. This reply may be too late, but I am researching a Griffin family from Stiffkey, Norfolk. The family lived there for several generations. I do not have Laura Griffin on my tree, but I have not brought forward all of the collateral Griffin lines, so she could be there. Good luck.

Hi, Free BMD has a birth in the September Quarter 1882 for Laura GRIFFIN in Blofield District which covers the parish of Southwood. The reference is: 4b 207 and there are links to the GRO if you wish to obtain the certificate. Hope this helps.
