Does anyone have access to the 1821 and 1811 Norfolk census - I am particularly interested in the BOWLES family from the old Buckenham area. If anyone could tell me of any Bowles in that time.
I am also keen on finding the baptism of William George Bowles born 1820-1830. on the 1841 census he says he was born old Buckenham(and also on the 1861 census ) but on the 1851 he says oldbury. I know his father was called John Bowles. thank you

I'm trying to track down a William Yarrington.

I understand he was co-proprietor of the Norwich Mercury and a son-in-law of Richard Bacon. I'm trying to establish which Richard Bacon it was.

I can see that there were three generations of Richard Bacon involved with the Mercury and the elder married a Katherine Kirby.

I have found a marriage record for William Yarrington and Catherine Kirkby Bacon in Bedingham but I don't know the year. I would like to find out the names of their children.

It sounds like there's a conncetion with my gt gt gt Grandfather. He was Frederick Kirby Yarrington who emigrated from Norwich to Sydney in 1840.

John Yarrington
Hi Loraine,
Tom Bilham is not part of my Bilham family but I do have a tree for this Bilham clan based on Old Buckingham. I am not active on this tree except where i can find older data which might link all the localised Bilham families together.
Thomas was the son of James b 1853 in OB d 1924 in OB and Emma Elizabeth Bowen b 1849 OB . They married in 1877 in OB.They had 8 children including Thomas b 1882 d 1959 Wayland.
Thomas married Emily Spencer b 1883,d 1959 in Swaffham in 11903. I only know of two children:- Edith I b 1913 who married a Cook and Katherine M b 1922 who married a Sharp.
I cannot trace tem further as the name changes. If you know of any sons I do have the database to track them further.
I do have more detail of James's children and his parents if you are interested.
Let me know if you get this data and if you need more ddetails. How are you related to Tom?
Jim Bilham-Boult

Hi Bill,

I have Stephen Crotch b abt 1750 Norwich who married Mary Ann Bell b abt 1760 Norwich. They had the following:

Stephen b 1782 Norwich
Rachel b 1785 Norwich
Benjamin b 1788 Norwich
Mary Ann b 1790 Norwich

Benjamin Crotch (above) born 1788 Norwich who married Mary Jones in 1818 at Norwich. They had the following children:

Benjam Samuel b 1819 Norwich
Mary Ann Turner b 1820 Norwich
Hannah b 1821 Norwich
Sarah Ann b 1826 Norwich
Elizabeth b 1829 Norwich
Louise b 1831 Norwich
Mary Ann b 1834 Norwich
Selina b 1836 Norwich
Julia b 1840 Norwich

Julia b 1840 is my great great grandmother. Can confirm Julia and her parents with Brittish Census and IGI. Stephen and Mary Ann only can rely on IGI. Unfortunately, I don't have famous William in my findings. Are you able to help or is there any connection?? Hoping this finds you as I have found your name on other websites, but old email addresses.

RICKWOOD family, Thetford, 1900-1920s

We are looking for information about the family of Evelyn May Rickwood, born in Thetford in 1909.

We know that in the Evelyn grew up living with her parents and a(t least one) brother at Thetford Cemetery, where her father worked, until she moved away for employment in her mid teens.

We also know that sadly Evelyn died in 1989 in London, long before we knew anything about her, but suspect she may have relatives/descendants who still live in that area. We would really love to find out anything about Evelyn, her family, or anyone who knew her, in order to fill a few gaps in the mind of a now elderly foundling and his (really interested!) family, who first found out anything about his parentage last year.

Any info (or tips, cos I'm new to this!) would be really greatfully recieved.

Many thanks,
Jen.
Rebecca LUBBOCK b. Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (married to Captain John MOODY)

My family tree has Rebecca Lubbock (1807-1846) who was married to Sea Captain John Moody (1801-1872). Rebecca was born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. My mother has the family tree that indicates Rebecca's parents were Sir John Lubbock and Rebecca. Birth records indicate her mother's name was Rebecca Tooke, but possibly it could be Tuck. My great grandmother said there was a connection to Sir John Lubbock (1773-1840) because he was Rebecca's father. I know Sir John was married to Mary Entwisle but I have not yet found that he fathered a daughter named Rebecca. Can anyone provide further information on our Rebecca's parents? Which John Lubbock was her father? There are so many John Lubbocks and no records seem to match Rebecca.

Thank you!
Harriet

Hey there I don't know a lot about the Rickwoods, but I see you have added some of my people. Never heard of Evelyn May Rickwood, as they are not blood relatives. What I can share though is my great aunt Gladys Riley married married George Arthur Rickwoood in 1947, they had one daughter together Christine Janet Rickwood born 1947. However within a years time Gladys was diagnosed with T.B. so she gave her first daughter (to a previous relationship) to her mother to raise, and Christine to George's sister Violet Rickwood and husband Bertie Wales as they couldn't have children themselves. (and George didn't want to raise the 2 girls himself)
So Violet and Bertie adopted Christine, her name became Christine Janet Wales. but she passed in 1994.

Re: baptism/birth of Sarah ALLISON - 1812 - East Dereham
Hi Sharon

I found that enrty and must admit didn't think about an earlier daughter. I think Sarah had a sister called Elizabeth who happened to marry the brother of Sarah's first husband (at least that is my theory based on the fact Sarah and George (Lawrence) lived in the same street as Elizabeth and Charles (Lawrence) Both girls show up in the census as from East Dereham, however on Elizabeth's marriage cert it shows the fathers name as Miles. On Sarah and George's marriage cert there is no fathers name or at least it doesn't appear to be as it is pretty smudged.
Lottee

Hello Duncan,
I am also looking for a Charlotte Priest but don't think we are after the same Charlotte. My Charlotte married a John in 1832 at Weston Turville Bucks.I am looking for the death of Charlotte but seems to have hit a brick wall at the moment.I am a Priest and my Ancesters all seem to come from the Buckinghamshire area.I have got to the date of 1746 and am trying to find a Tudor Priest with not much luck.
Just thought you might like to know.
Carol.
