Hi Susan,
Ethel was Carole's (my wife) Grandmother. Which of the other seven brothers and sisters are you decended from?
I have a very extensive database on the family, but I do not have your name listed. I checked all the Susan's, but nobody fits into the same slot.
In our possessions we have many photographs of the Clarkes with Ethel in the pictures. We don't really know why Ethel did live with Aunt Polly, who of course is actually Mary A. Clarke b 1858.
In one of the Clarke's census reports I have found Ethel living with Mary as a niece. Mary was a dressmaker, and Ethel and her daughter both became expert seamstresses.
Please let me know how you fit in and I will update my database and help in other ways too.
