I was very interested to read your message, posted 2003, about Aunt Polly looking after Ethel, daughter of Frederic Crickmay and Rebecca Clark. Frederic Crickmay was my great grandfather, who was borm in Hindon. Their daughter Ethel was born 18 Sept 1890 in Walthamstow, Essex. She was baptised at St Saviours, Walthamstow on 7 Dec 1890. She appears on the 1891 Census with her parents but then disappears from sight. This must be your Ethel Crickmay and I would like to know more of how she came to live with Aunt Polly.
Rebecca Clark is the daughter of Richard Clark c 1824 of Olney and Mary Drage c 1822 of Lavenden.
