Classification: Query
Surnames: Finlay, Eager, Dougherty, Hawkins, Buxton, Jeffers
Do you know if the name German is a family one? It is a common name in my family, although they are from Co. Wicklow. It appeared in the Finlay family in the late 1780's and has been used in every generation. Related surmanes are
Finlay, Eager, Hawkins, Dougherty, Jeffers

And I have found a family of George Hawkin, who's child German Hunt Hawkin was christened in 19/6/1836 in Heage, Derby, although I have not been able to connect this family back to mine.
I hope this can be of some help
