Northumberland is the birth place of Henry Chichele(y) Arch Bishop of Canterbury and some of the earlist Checkley settlers in th Boston, MA. area. Seeking to establish the link between the Chichele(y) and the Checkley surnames. I have the Book Stammata Chicheleana which contains ALL the blood descendents of his father Thomas Chichele. These descendents, and once identified, would be given admittance to All Souls College which was founded by Henry.

THE RESPONSE TO THE BASON FAMILY IS INDEED MY ANCESTORS. MARY E BASON WAS MY GRANDMOTHER. HER NICKNAME WAS LIZZY. WHEN HER FATHER (GEORGE BASON) BECAME A USA CITIZEN, ON THE PAPERS WE HAVE OF HIM BECOMING A CITIZEN, IT STATES "PARENTS UNKNOWN' WAS HE ADOPTED? HIS WIFE PHOEBE BASON, WAS NEVER HEARD OF. DID SHE REMAIN IN ENGLAND? WE ONLY HAVE A DEATH NOTICE FOR A PHOEBE BORN NOVEMBER 29 1839 AND DIED OCTOBER 31, 1910. HER MAIDEN NAME WAS LISTED AS GASKINS. IS THIS THE SAME PERSON? ANY OTHER INFORMATION WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED. I'M KIND OF PUZZLED WHY GEORGE BASON LISTED HIS PARENTS AS UNKNOWN. WE HAVE NATURALIZATION OF ALIENS PAPERS FOR GEORGE BASON. AUGUST 31, 1894 IN COUNTY OF BLUE EARTH MINNESOTA USA. WE ALSO HAVE A CERTIFICATE OF CITIZENSHIP TO THE USA FOR GEORGE BASON DATED DECEMBER 2ND 1896. NOTHING ON A PHOEBE BASON. WE ALSO HAVE A DEATH NOTICE FOR A THOMAS GASKINS WHO DIED JANUARY THE 9TH 1884 AT THE AGE OF 82. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.

Dear Jane,
Found your Cattle in the Northamptonshire query - I was born a Cattle and am in league with some distant cousins all trying to establish links. Our Cattles all seem to come from Yorkshire where the name is strong and we believe one at least, John Cattle moved to Barton on Humber where he married a local lass, Gertrude Issott and started another branch in the mid 1750's. Where does your Cattle connection come in?

new to research just found out my grandmother on my fathers side was Laura Cattle/Cattles (from 'Beverly, E Yorkshire) she apparently had two sisters Molly and Florrie. Unsure if there were other siblings. She married Henry Davies and they had a son Reuben/Robert b. 11.6.1928 (my father) and a daughter Elizabeth.

If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Bob,

Many thanks for your message and apologies for not replying earlier - I left on 5 January to go skiing in Val D'Isere and only got back an hour ago! We are definitely related, all the Cattle family from Beverley are but I am not sure where at the moment - do you have any dates at all to help me narrow things down a little? We have a fantastic Cattle network all over the world so I will forward details and I am sure we will be able to help.
I'll be in touch soon,
Dianne Strang
