I am seeking help in finding out more about John William BOULTBY who married Sarah Ann RAVEN (als. Deabill) in Sneinton in 1902. From his marriage certificate I gather that he was 21 at the time of marriage and his father was also called John William Boultby, a lamplighter.

I am struggling to find out anything more...I am not having much luck with the censuses (I fear transcription errors may be at the root of the problem) and I have 2 birth certificates for JWBs. One is from 1880 where the parents are William and Hannah and one from 1883 where the parents are John and Emma: either or neither could be the one (instinct says the 1880 one is 'mine' but gut feeling isn't really enough!).

Any help on this gratefully received, likewise any other information about Boultbys in the Nottingham area.
