This is a long shot. Looking for Susan Banbury, b. 1878+/-, d. Hinkley, Illinois 1934. Married Jacob Myers. Said to be from England, came over at "very early age". This is all I have. Someone else suggested this board.

FreeBMD has this one:

Births Sep 1877
Banbury Susan Swansea 11a 674

Possibility? (But no obvious sign of her on the 1881 census.)

Distinct possibility. Non appearance on 1881 census(England?) supports that she "emigrated at an early age." will surf passenger ships for clues.

Thanks for responding,

Chuck

Hi Chuck ...

I have no knowledge of the format of US marriage certificates - do they give fathers' names? If you have Susan and Jacob's marriage certificate and her father's name is given, then it may be worth purchasing the birth certificate for the birth entry I found to see if it "matches".

Susan Banbury was the sister of David Henry Banbury - my ggrandfather. Other siblings are James, William H. and Elizabeth. They all came to the US on the same ship in 1880 although they are listed in 2 separate places on the passenger list. Their parents are James Banbury and Eliza Banbury (same last name because they are cousins). I have some newspaper articles of some of the family after they moved to Illinois. I'd be glad to swap information.

Hi Cuzzin,

Yes, we are related. Susan married my gggrandfather Jacob R. Myers. Their daughter, Theodocia, married my ggrandfather Scott H. Wolfe. Their daughter, Florence Vella Reece nee Wolfe, was my maternal grandmother. I have some more info on Susan etal from Hinsdale, Illinois and environs, if you are interested.
