A relative lived at 27 Wood Green, Witney in 1908. I can only find Wood Green School in Witney in the present day. Does anyone know if the school replaced an area of housing ?

There are still houses around Woodgreen. The Three Pigeons Public House is number 31. I am not sure which way the numbers go as after the pub the houses end and the council offices begin. The school is on the other side of the Woodstock Road. I only live a few hundred metres from Woodgreen. Next time I "go for a pint" I will have a look at the numbering.

Many thanks - would be nice to know whether No 27 is still there.

I can't say if no. 27 is still there or not but I know that to the left of The Three Pigeons there used to be a cottage which was no.33. My husband lived there as a child when his dad, Jim Bridgman was an employee of the brewery. This cottage is now part of the pub.

I lived at 29 Woodgreen from 1950 to 1968. No. 29 is to the left of The Three Pigeons pub, looking from Woodgreen itself. No. 27 is to the left of no. 29 in the direction of Narrow Hill and West End. When I lived there, if I remember correctly a Miss Bartlett lived in no. 27.

I don't live in the area anymore but the houses were still all there a couple of years ago and well looked after.

Many thanks for this information. I'll go back and have another look next time I'm in the area - hopefully soon.
