I am looking for a Birth/Christening of a William Straw in 1791.

Long story but according to the 1851 Census he is living in Farnsfield, Nottinghamshire and the place of birth appears to say Wheatley, Northamptonshire (or Norway according to the Ancestry transcriber!)
In 1861 he is still in Farnsfield but the POB seems to say Whatley.

I am assured by the Northants board there is no place of that name in Northants so I hoped someone would be able to confirm if there were families of that name in Wheatley

If you mean Wheatley around Headington. I cannot see any STRAWS there at all. I had a look at the marriage index and there is only one STRAW listed for 1791 at Chinor.

I had a look at the census and it does look like Northampshire and Wheatley though in one instant it was like Whatley.

If the 1841 William is that one in Nottinghamshire then I'd try there as he says he was born in county.
