I am seeking the parents of Roger Sumner b. abt. 1570 in Bicester, Oxfordshire. He died 12/3/1608 and is buried in St. Edburg churchyard. This is just north of London. He was married 11/2/1601 Joanne Franklin. His son William was also born in Bicester on 1/22/1605.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Bruce Sumner ----bruce_sumner@hotmail.com

Bruce,
Do you have information concerning any of William Sumner's children, how he came to the US, and any relatives after that point. We have information that the family tree leads to Roger and William but then have a 172 year gap before we can trace our roots to Azor Betts Sumner in Royal Province of NY (now Vermont). Can you help us out?

Odilia Sumner, Colorado, USA

Hello Bruce,
I am also looking for who I believe is the same Roger Sumner's father, named Roger Sumner. He was born about 1531 in Bicester, Oxon, England. All I know is he married "Mrs. Sumner" who was born about 1535 in Bicester, Oxon, England. Please contact me and we may possibly put some pieces together. Faraway35@aol.com Thank you.

Hi David:
It's been a long time since you posted this message...not sure if you will be able to reply. I am so excited to finally find someone who is *fairly* related to our branch!! My line comes from:
Roger Sumner to William Sumner
William Sumner to Clement Sumner
William Sumner to Thomas Sumner
Samuel Lockhart Sumner to Samuel Lockhart Sumner (married Kesiah Carter)
to my gggrandfather James Sumner to the majority of our relatives now in Canada.
I was wondering if we can exchange information, as I have very little on your gggrandmother's brother's and sisters.

Looking forward to your response,
Sherri Ellis (nee Sumner

I just read your post on Ancestry. It was posted in 2001 so I don't know if you are still active. I am seeking more information on Samuel Lockhart SUMNER who married Sarah TYLER. I believe their daughter was Sally "Sarah" SUMNER (about 1783-1831) and their son was Benjamin SUMNER - dates unknown. I am trying to link Sally SUMNER with my 2nd G Grandfather, Henry HART (1795-1879) of New Hampshire, Canada and Michigan.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will happily share the information I have.
Thank you,
Diane Gould Hall
