I haven't done any research in Shropshire for about 6 years but have this surname in the VENABLES/LEA line of which there was a marriage into the WOOLLEY family in the early 1800's. If anyone is interested I would be delighted to share my information. I have resently been researcying this surname in the American Colonies circa 1700-1800's in the New Jersey and New York settlements

Linda: I see you posted your generous offer of information about the Wooly family several years ago but I hope the offer is still open. I have traced most of my family lineage but have been unable to find anything on my great-grandmother, Susan Wooly, originally living in Virginia in the early 1800s. I suspect she was from Ireland or England from family stories. Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated. You can contact me off the listserve at pfsitchler@gmail.com if you prefer.
