Does anyone know of Mary Ann Davies from Madeley, Shropshire. I believe her father was Richard an ironmonger?? She married Bryce Smith, born circa 1807 in Scotland, on 14/2/1832 in Madeley. I want to know about Mary Ann and Bryce. Can anyone help?

If you haven't already seen the entries in the census, in 1841 they were living in Salford, Manchester with 3 children, Bryce, Jane and Mary. In 1851 they were in Bowden in Cheshire and were visiting Elizabeth Kemp. They had 3 children with them, Bryce, Jane Eliza and Mary Ann. By 1861 there was only Jane Eliza at home and now lived in Stretford, Manchester. I couldn't find them after that.

Many thanks for your reply. Yes I have seen them from the 1841 census and onwards. Bryce is my 3 x great grandfather through the male line. They ended up in Manchester owning a calico printing company at the end of the 1800's. My grandfather was then classed as a "gentlemen" and businessman in other words he didn't work! My interest is trying to trace Bryce back to scotland he and Mary Ann married 14 Feb 1832 and lived in Wellington in the county of Salop. If you or anyone else can help me it would be great. I believe he had some relationship/friendship with people in Kilmonivaig in Invernesshire, as his son Bryce Jnr married one Janet Walker Smith from there and she also had a cousin Bryce. Any help at all would be appreciated
