I don't think there is a name Suni and the confusion may have arisen over the original handwriting on the 1851 census. If you look carefully the Suni as indexed is Isaac.
He was called Isaac when he married Henrietta in 1846 and in every subsequent census.
He states born Woombridge in 1851 but Dawley after that.
Woombridge I believe was near Wrockwardine.
Henrietta Pitchford baptised 31st December 1827 Dawley Magna
parents Timothy and Mary.(This looks the most likely)
Marriage certificate will give names of both parties.
Isaac Jones/Henrietta Pitchford
December qtr 1846 ref.
EVANS family of Oswestry

Hi - can anyone help with trying to find a marriage between a Robert Evans and his wife Elizabeth, who was also named Evans before her marriage and I believe she was his cousin. They both came from Oswestry, and both were hawkers of ceramic pots. I beleive they married about 1858, probably in Oswestry (though possibly in Montgomery). I did find a possible reference int he GRO for Montgomery in 1861, but both the local office in Welshpool and the GRO say that though there is an ELizabeth and a Robert Evans on the same page, they didn't marry each other.
I would love to track this down for my aunt, who would like to know about her family, and who has been wonderful to me since I recently lost my mother. Any help would be most welcome. Thank you.

Almost definitely one of 'our lot'
Hope it's helpful.
Marg

I did not know about the George William in 1899, I just do not seem to be able to locate them after this, I have searched the local burials and even looked round the grave yard.
I am also trying to fit in a Mrs Ann Burgess who lived at 12 Clee View Highley in 1936

Thanks for your reply. I did send for details of what appeared to be the correct marriage, but on further investigation though both were on the same page, they actually married other people, so sadly I still haven't been able to track the marriage down. They travelled around a lot - which doesn't help - selling pottery/ceramics etc. They also appear to move between Shropshire and various locations in Wales, which also confuses matters. As a result I haven't been able to get back that much further. I live in hope though. thanks for your kind thoughts about my mother - time is as ever a great healer.

Best wishes, and thanks.

How strange, both the fathers are said to be Innkeepers and Peter was an Architect and when I found Jonas on the census he was a Farmer.
I have done a thorough search of UK records and there is no marriage of a Wheller/Weller/Wheeler to Louisa Hall from 1851/61 and no death that would fit in of Wheller/Weller from 1959/1861,quite a mystery.

Marg,
I mistakenly said my Grandfathers name was George. It was John Thomas Burgess. They lived in the New England miners Cottages until about 1917 at which time they moved to Clee View in Highley.
They were a large family. My father was born in 1905 and was the oldest son. Could your Grandfather have been a brother of my Grandfather?
John

Help with a Mary WEAVER c1800 (a brick wall), Bishop's Castle Shropshire

Any help on this Brick wall most welcome.

All I know for fact is that my 2GGGFather a Richard Weaver was born illigitimate to a Mary Weaver in 1820 at Bishop's Castle Shropshire. I found Mary on the 1841 Census living in Bishop's Castle Shropshire with her 3 children Hannah, Emma and Lewis all illigitimate.

I can't find any information to link her to a birth, all I can guess is she was born between C1802 and 1806, from 1841 census age 35. I can't find her on the 1851 census, found all the children, and have found a death certificate for a Mary weaver dated Feb 1845 in Bishop's Castle but it has no information on the address and the person present was the Dr and no one else. Age given 46 making 1799 her birth year. It does seem that the the death certificate is her... as I can't find a marriage for her. I did find Poor law documents for Hannah and Emma in Bishop's Castle.

What I want to find is her mother and father etc but I am stumped. As I said any help or pointers would be great
Thanks David
