I am looking for my GGrandmother Elleanor Revitt born abt. 1850 Ipswich Suffolk. It could be under Revett or possibly as in the 1851 census I found Robert and Caroline Revell in Suffolk with a baby Elleanor. She married Henry Nattrass and died in Barking Essex 1900. If I could just find the correct spelling it would be so helpful to this novice researcher. Thankyou Maggie

The name appears to be Revett. The name changes on the 11851 census, but this could be a transcribers error, and tthey live in the same place, on 1841, 1851, and 1861 census. Rope Lane etc. St. Clements.

Second message.

This appears to be the baptism for Caroline (Revett) The age fits, with the age on the census, and also with the marriage to Robert Revett.

CAROLINE CECILIA ASHKETTLE Female
Birth: St Mary Key Ipswich
Christening: 23 DEC 1821 , Suffolk, England :
Parents:
Father: ISAAC ASHKETTLE
Mother: LUCY

This probably is Robert. If you look at the 1841 census, he has a 60 year old woman named Hannah Revett living with him, who is probably his mother.

ROBERT Revett Male

Christening: 07 NOV 1813 St Clement, Ipswich, Suffolk, England

Father: JOHN Revett Family
Mother: Hannah

I have looked at your family tree, and cannot find a birth in Sunderland (or anywhre else) of a Henry Mathias Nattrass.

I can find a Henry in Sunderland

Births Dec 1849
NATRESSS Henry Sunderland 24 312
I think that this is his parents:-

Marriages Dec 1846
Nattrass William Timothy St George E 2 57
Potter Dorothy St.George E. 2 57

My reason for saying this is his parents is that they can be tracked through various census records, and in 1861, William Nattrass and Dorothy, have Dorothy's mother living with them and her name is Elizabeth Potter.

Dear Nancy, Thankyou so much for the help, oh what a clever lady you must be. I'm still mastering the computer! I may very well take you up on your offer of help after I get myself sorted out with all that you have sent me. A week or so ago whilst struggling with Elleanor Rivett I chanced on a Family Tree (not much on it ) from someone in Alberta Canada recognised the name she is part of my Mothers family, haven't had the chance to determine which part but have had an e-mail today she was looking for Henry Nattrass or at least more about him. I know that they have a lot of photos over there that I was promised copies of years ago so perhaps I will get them now. I found Mathias several times with Nattrass and couldn't quite make up my mind if it was a misspelling or a middle name. I have today got one of my son's to upgrade my membership to Worldwide for me whether it will help me who knows but may as well go the whole hog. I have found that a sister of my paternal Grandmother went to Manitoba early 1900's so perhaps it will help with that. Anyway, thankyou again, Maggie
