Hi Sandra,
You posted to my message and not Ian's. I believe I am a descendant of Edward Priddle of Carbonear also. However, I still have not managed to find out where Edward Priddle came from.
I have researched the Provincial Archives and have what information they have for the Carbonear Anglican Archives. However, I believe one line of the Priddles were either Methodists or became Methodists during the 1800's. This line I have not researched yet, but I'm pretty certain they are the same family. I'm sure you know that the Priddle name is not that common in Newfoundland - one line in Carbonear, one line on the South Coast around Roncountre, and I believe one line in Bonavista.
If you would like to contact me off post for any information I have on the Priddles (which I have to admit is not a lot) you may contact me at jparab@roadrunner.nf.net
