I am part of the Wooler family and am trying to fnd as much information on our history as possible. I know that we come from Wooler in Northumberland (UK) and that one of our family created the Wooler motorcycle (2 models made I think) but am finding it difficult to get started!
If anybody could help me, please email me with any finding i.e. web sites I can go to or the like.

Thank you
Alan Wooler

Hi Alan

How are you? Wish there was a place in cyberspace where we could all find these things out but it doesn't always work like that unfortunately.Until you start with yourself and work back through the generations and get some names, dates and places it's not possible to link things up. I'm stuck in London with my Woollers, around 1790-1800 with two brothers, Thomas and Samuel born around then who were literate so I guess from a family who were somewhat successful, only problem was my ggg g'father Samuel got into trouble and sent to Botany Bay!
No doubt we all go back to the same place but when and how are the questions.
Good luck & contact me if you think I can help you further.

Hello Alan,
I've just picked up your message.
My husband is closely related to John and Charles Wooler of motorbike fame - the bike being called the Flying Banana! His grandmother, Jane Emily Saddington was their sister. We have done a lot of research into the family and are in touch with people who have done even more. The link with Wooler in Northumberland and the motorbike Wooler's is not proven. We can go back to the amazingly named brothers Napeoleon Washington, Lafayette Cartwright, and Thomas Kosckiuszo Wooler but no further than their father Jonothan Wooler Gentleman. . . . well not that we can prove anyway although there are hints . . . Why don't you send me an email and we can exchange information?

Hi Ron,

I am from Australia and am trying to trace my ancestor back to England. He was WILLIAM LEVETT born about 1807 but so far haven't been able to confirm his family back in England. He came to Australia as a convict from Kent Gaol in 1830 landing in 1831 on the "Exmouth". He was convicted for housebreaking. His middle name MAY have been Timothy and he was SUPPOSED to have come from Ilford, Essex but this may not be right. My mother was a LEVETT. Cheers, Letitia

Hi Joanne,

My mother was a Levett. The original Levett in my mother's line was William Levett born about 1807. He came to Australia as a convict from Kent Gaol in 1830 landing in 1831. He married Elizabeth Ann Wright. He was arrested for housebreaking. If you want any further information or if you have any info for me please contact me. My William's middle name may have been TIMOTHY??? and I am not sure where he came from but it MAY have been Ilford, Essex. Cheers, Letitia
