Farncombe was my grandfather. He died around 1929-30 and was a freelance journalist. His best known work was a novel called "Ruled by Radio" of which I have an original edition. I know very little of his early years and all his children- my mother and aunts- are now dead. He married my grandmother after 1918.
My aunt told me he died of kidney disease and it seemes to have been unexpected,or sudden.
