I'm looking for information on the
Thompson and
Lund families of Darlaston and Wednesbury.
John
Thompson, was born about 1827-1830 in, according to census records, Darlaston, Staffordshire. He married a woman named Elizabeth, born about 1826-1828 in Tysol, Warwickshire. Her maiden name is unknown. They were married probably sometime around 1846-1848. The couple lived in Darlaston in 1851, and in 1861 and 1871 they were living in Wednesbury. Elizabeth died sometime between 1871 and 1881; I have 1875 written down, but I don't remember where I got that date, so it could be wrong. In 1881 John was living in West
Bromwich with three of his children: Elizabeth, Julia Ann, and James Richard (it was James in 1871 and Richard in 1881, but years correspond, so his full name, I assume, is some variation of this).
John worked as an engineer.
The children of John and Elizabeth were:
1. David b 1848
2. Sarah b 1852
3. Alfred b 1855
4. William Henry b 1858
5. John b 1861
6. Elizabeth b 1863
7. James b 1866
8. Julia Ann b 1868
9. Benjamin b 1870
10. Stephen b 1871
David
Thompson, oldest son of John and Elizabeth, married Lydia
Lund, who was born in Wednesbury, Staffordshire, on 28 Feb 1854. Nothing else is known about her before she married. David and Lydia married around 1871. They immigrated to Morris,
Illinois, in 1887, and they had 8 children, 5 of whom were born in Wednesbury: Lydia, John, Richard, William, Florence, David, Alice, and Roy.
If anyone has any information on this family, I would appreciate if you shared with me. I am especially curious about the parents of John, Elizabeth, and Lydia.
