I have no idea where Fenton is in Staffordshire but I have a step relation JOHN HENRY POWELL 335 Waterloo Road, who married my grandmother in 1919.

The whole of my family come from around the Potteries of Staffordshire. I still have relatives there now.
On 7.08.1919 A JOHN HENRY POWELL aged 32 married ADELAIDE KKNAPPER a widow at Christ Church Cobridge/ The address on the certificate for both of them was 335 Waterloo Road. JOHN HENRY gave his father's details as EDWARD POWELL deceased a rigger.

I don't have Edward on my tree at the moment but I suspect I am missing many siblings of my GG line, born after the 1891 census. If you find Edwards parents are William Powell and Alice Thorley I would love to hear from you again.

most of my powell side of my family came from stoke on trent, some stayed in bilston, and my gg grandad came from wales.
my gg grandad who i have no 1st name came from wales and married a lady (no 1st name again,) collins she came from ireland, Believe they moved to bilston where they had about 7/8 children, they then moved to stoke - on - trent, a few children stayed behind in bilston.

In more recent times my POWELL ancestors lived in Fenton in Stoke-on-Trent. My great grandfather William POWELL married my great grandmother Elizabeth WALKLATE in Fenton in 1900.

William was the son of William POWELL and Alice THORLEY who married in Dresden, Stoke-on-Trent in 1880.

The elder William was born in Broad Street, Bilston in 1861 and was the son of William POWELL and Mary Ann CORFIELD. he had at least two brothers called John and Henry. I don't yet know what happened to John and Henry.
