Hi,

I have just received my great grandparents marriage certificate but can't read the full name of the Catholic church in which they got married. I was wondering if anyone could help me...

The bit i can read say St. Catherine of... it was in Birmingham in 1919; i know there is a church called St. Catherine of Siena, but i have been informed that was only built in 1964. Can anyone help me?

My great grandparents were Dennis Hoban and May Reeves (nee Cowdrill; she was a widow)

Hi The RC Church you are on about is St Catherine Of siena Bristol St Birmingham ( It was known as The HorseFair)
It was built in 1896 later demolished and the new one you mentioned is on the same sight./If you type in search box for St catherine Of Siena Bristol St Birmingham Father Fleming you can e-mail him for more information marriage deaths etc details.Hope this is a help good luck with your search Regards Patricia.

Hi Clair. the church that you mentioned is the new St catherines.Thay demolished the old one when makeing way for the old smallbrook st to build the ring road that was in the 1970s. My pareants got married there 1n 1932.it all so had a school. It is still on Bristol Street also nown as the horse fair tothe older Brummys.regards lyn
