Two more data tidbits about Hosmond Blyth.

The 3 week old unnamed baby girl of Hosmond and Emily that appeared in the 1901 UK Census is probably Stella Eveline Blyth who passed in 1907 at age 5.

The Public Warder Family Tree at Ancestry.com says that the parents of Horsman Blyth b abt 1858 Warwickshire are William Rowland Blyth & Elizabeth Ann Hayton Warwickshire. The spelling for Hosmond varies in the different indexes.

I show that Hosmond died in Dec 1925 in Bath Somerset & Emily passed im March 1934 in Bath Somerset. Their son Harry/Henry immigrated into the US arriving in NYC aboard the SS Olympic on 19 July 1911. I don't have marriage data but would bet the whole farm that Henry and Annie Blyth nee Lynch appear in the 1920 NYC Federal Census as living in the 300 block of East 31st St with their 18 month old daughter Elizabeth D Blyth.

Hi, did you find the information you were looking for. I know it is a very long time ago. I actually work in one of the buildings that were the original homes for the children back in the 1900's. We found a couple of original pictures out of our building on this web site. It actually has a sensus on it as well giving all staff and children that were there. I know it is a bit late as your post was sent years ago but hey, worth a try.

http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html?Birmingham/Birmingha...

Hi Everyone!

I've had such wonderful support and help from some of you so I thought I would see if anyone can help with an area I'm stuck on...

I am trying to gain more information on:

Elizabeth King - born around 1835 in Birmingham, Warwickshire (according to marriage record found on ancestry.co.uk)

Edward King - Elizabeth's father (again I got this from the marriage record)

William King - Possibly a brother? (again I got this from the marriage record which stated that Elizabeth married in the presence of William King and Catherine Stephens).

Richard Burke - Elizabeth's husband - born around 1822 in Ireland, we can't find anything more on this relative. Elizabeth and Richard married at St Pancras Church in Camden on 17th December 1860, although I'm not sure if it would have been in the St Pancras Old Church or the new big one with the roman columns along the front.

Anything anyone can help with would be absolutely wonderful and greatly appreciated!

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this!

Kylie Goode

I am researching Mary Ann Davies born 1839 Birmingham who married Joseph Rogers born 1838 Birmingham. Her father was Edward Davies a Carpenter-he was born in Birmingham and her mother was Prudence Tomkins. Edwards father was George Davies and his mother was Mary Powel. Joseph Rogers and Mary Ann Davies were my 2xgreat grandparents. It appears that Mary Ann Davies registered the children using her maiden name as Mary Ann Davis so some confusion on the name begins at this point.
Regards Liz Rogers

No becuase my sisters have a different father and they had mother's maiden name albiet spelt clightly differently. My sisters were born 25th April 1941 and were triplets Helena, Despana and Ernee. Their father was named on their birth certificates and he was Greek. They did pay him a surprise visit but of course he wasn't interested. Now there's a surprise !! We beleive my father was dutch as she named me Juliana and her name appears to now begin with Wilhelmina Millicent. I call myself Julia but she named me Juliana hence the reason for ua all thinking my father was Dutch although not named on my birth certificate. Does any of this help ??

My great grandmothers younger sister was Minnie Welsh who was know as "Madam Amies" and I believe she ran a dance studio in Birmingham, England. Her second husband was Henry Albion Amies and in the 1911 Census his occupation is listed as a Dancing Teacher. I am assuming that they ran it together or she did after his passing. Would anyone have any information or memories of this studio? Was the studio known as "The Coffin"?

Would love to find nephews and nieces etc or a brother !! If you can find anything would very much appreciate it. One other thought my sisters surname is spelt Trathen i think.
Many thanks Julia
