My Grandmothers Aunt married Oliver Monk, his mother was Elizabeth Betsy Douthwaite b. Ackenthwaite, Westmorland 1832.

There is a beautiful sampler sewn by her in 1845, she was one of eleven children

The message from Wendy Dayes, Elizabeth Betsy Douthwaite was my Great Great Great Grandfather's Sister.If you have the 11 siblings, mine is William,born1822 at Ackenthwaite. The house (smithy at the time) was sold out of the Family in the 1950's. I have a photo of the youngest brother Abraham outside the house with his prize bull. I also have samplers from a different branch of the Family.

I'm not sure how to contact you other than through these message boards, to which I am new user!

The sampler I mentioned along with the Monk family are in Australia. The family emigrated around 1912.
I have contact with one family member who sent me some photo's of the sampler on a C.D.

I'd love to see the photo of their house.

I have a photo of Betsy's son Oliver b. 1871 in Parbold.

Perhaps we can find a way to exchange pictures?
