Looking for any information on the descendants of Robert Lund (b.1777 Lodge Park, Clapham) who married Mary Wilson (b.1779 Heversham) 1804 at Helsington. They appear to have lived at Helsington and had 11 Lund children (Mary, Elizabeth aka Betsy/Betty, Richard, James, Agnes, John, Wilson, Fannie, Ann, Ellen & Robert). I am particularly interested in those that stayed in the Heversham, Sedgewick and Beathwaite Green areas, also Barrow, Ulverston, Tebay & Orton areas. Also am interested in finding out about Wilson Lund (b.1815 Bethnel Green), and his sister Ann Lund (b.1817 Heversham) who married Isaac Hunter in the parish of Heversham in 1840. Both emigrated to Utah, USA and converted to the Mormon faith. Their considerable numbers of children were born c.1840 onwards. Also, I have reason to believe that Fannie and probably Ellen went out to America too but have no proof of this as yet. Any info. on the Lund families or Ann Hunter (nee Lund) & Isaac Hunter would be welcome. I would also be happy to share what info. I have on these families. Although Isaac Hunter is not, to the best of my knowledge, related to my Hunter line, I did catalogue all of the Hunters in Westmorland who appear on the IGI some time ago. From this, I can give you the following information on this line (which you may already have?):

Isaac: bapt. 14.8.1816
(Matthew, son of Alice: bapt. 21.1.1816 - Heversham IGI)
(Isaac, son of Alice Hunter: bapt. 23.8.1818 - Heversham IGI)

Isaac Hunter/Anne Lund: Isaac: born 14.8.1816 (Heversham), marr. 16.11.1840 (of Levens - 'husbandman'), died 28.5.1898 - Salt Lake City

Thanks very much for the info. on Isaac Hunter - we have just returned from our holiday to find your email so it is a welcome surprise! I was going to book a visit to Kendal Records offce to trawl thru' the various registers to find the info. you have sent me on Isaac Hunter as I know very little about his family etc. However, I know a lot more about his life in America thanks to American contacts who are descendants of him.

The 1851 census for Levens has Richard Lund 49 Ag Lab born Levens, his wife Mary 39, born Levens and their children Isabella aged 11, John aged 7 and Richard aged 3 and all born Levens. I hope this helps

my husbands gran was a Hannah Lund - father Thomas Lund, they lived in barrow, tebay & earlier at levens (beathwaite green). Any info you have would be of interest, likewise if you want any from me email sam.colman@btinternet.com

Hi Sam, we are really pleased to hear from you. My partner is Keith Lund who is directly descended from John Lund (born 1815) and Margaret Baines. According to our records they had 9 children. Thomas was the youngest (born about 1850) and married a Mary Ann Hodgson. They had 8 children and their oldest son child Henry born about 1877 is Keith's Great grandfather. He was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1930. We have lots of information we can share with you if you would like. Like your post Keith's ancestors lived at Betahwaite green, Sedgewick, Barrow, Orton & Tebay so perhaps you are related in some way.

Hi Joanne, I will sent futher info by email, my mother in laws grandfather was Thomas Lind, G grandfather John William Lund, GG grandfather Thomas Lund & John & Margaret Lund would have been her GGG grandparents.
