Looking for information on the ancestors & family of JOHN FARRER b. July 6, 1810 in Appleby, Wes. Married in Warcop May 30, 1833 to ELIZABETH SOWERBY b. June 4, 1811 in Long Marton, Wes. Both died in CANADA.

Where are your Sowerby's from? What time period? Mine are from Kirkland to Warcop, beside the Eden River in Westmorland, Eng. To date I have nothing listed for a Sowerby married to a Micheal Cupp.

I am looking for Sowerby's that came from England and that married into the Michael Cupp family

Hi Dawn - I notice you mention Elizabeth Sowerby b. June 1811. I have found William Sowerby/Mary Stubbs m. 4/7/1809 at Long Marton. Possibly Elizabeth is their daughter/neice?

I have John Sowerby m. Margaret Powley, they emigrated to USA approx. 1883. I am in contact with his grandson in Pennsylvania.

So far have managed to get back to William Sowerby m. Mary Stubbs 4/7/1809.

i am daughter to joseph william sowerby who was born in jarrow 1910 and had sister marjorie and a brother frank . their parents were annie lavinia messer and joseph william sowerby. He had a brother REG s owerby whose family moved to grantham . I am searching the Best and Bowes line to the Sowerbys, from Cumbria/////

I thankyou for your reply. The reason I contacted you was that my fathers family, SOWERBY are related to a family Farrer from th e Halifax area. They moved to the States Doris Farrer or perhaps Farrar and brother William near Atlanta.
