Hi There, The McTiers are direct ancestors of mine, and I have full details back to the first one I can find, a William McTier born in 1740 in Wiltshire, rumoured to have a French connection, with a sister Mary born in France!! I cannot find his record of birth anywhere.....I will willingly give you any info,direct, my e-mail is Michael.May1@btinternet.com. Decima, is a side line for me, so I haven't searched the Hughes family. I am still working on more recent McTiers, who I believe still live in Oxfordshire, but the family mostly disappeared during the early twentieth century (Marlborough and Berkshire)
