I would be very grateful if someone could look at the 1851 census for Worcestershire for a James Pitt b. 1849, father George and mother Mary Ann. The family came to Australia in 1856 however I can't find them on the 1851 records available to me. It is thought they may have come from Worcestershire. Cheers Elizabeth

Did Samuel J have James as second name and use that as his name. and did your George marry Mary Ann Standish

Hi Peggy, thanks for doing this for me. Unfortunately this does not appear to be my family. As best as I can ascertain, George Pitt was born c. 1824 and married a Mary Ann Ward. Their eldest son, my g. grandfather, was born 1849 and there was another son John born c. 1851 and a daughter Ann Marie born c. 1853.
