Hi Pam, thank you for replying again. Her mother was not on her marriage certificate. I wish I had the space to tell you the whole story, its unusual and driving me and my Cousin mad. If you are interested, I can give you my email address: mollymoo53@googlemail.com. There are so many twists and turns in her story. Maybe fresh eyes could spot a clue in the bits and pieces we have. I loved her very much and after nearly 40 years I miss her still. Regards, Marian

I would be very grateful if someone could look at the 1851 census for Worcestershire for a James Pitt b. 1849, father George and mother Mary Ann. The family came to Australia in 1856 however I can't find them on the 1851 records available to me. It is thought they may have come from Worcestershire. Cheers Elizabeth

I have my grandmother's marriage certificate with her fathers name and occupation. I cannot find any trace of her birth records. She was Jessie Tedstone born 1894, I was told she was born in Halesowen, but not certain. Her father Thomas Fredrick Tedstone born 1876, groom/domestic, born in Bromsgrove. I don't know who her mother was, and can't trace her father, exactly. She moved from Birmingham to Accrington, Lancs in her teens to live with Jennie Hall (nee Bradford) who she called mother, and my mother called her Grandma, if she was illigitimate how can I find out.

Hi Pam!

Not sure how I ever missed your reply to my post... have to make sure my notifications are turned on!

The first Alfred you mentioned (Victuallar) I believe is the one I am looking for, since he was born cir. 1862/3. I do find it very interesting that another Alfred Court born in Redditch as well also married an Emma AND named their son William. May be they were cousins? I need to figure out now their link.

Thank you so much for the info! My reg. email is vacourt@gmail.com if you come across anything else. Have a great day and thanks again!

Hi Peggy,Thanks for your reply.I managed to find the marriage on Ancestry and will send for the certificate.I think Samuel my be the son of John Woodall c1815 and Rebecca Rusell. The name Russell did not appear on any census but did on their grandson Thomas's marriage cert.,his father was John Russell Woodall who may be the brother of Samuel who married Tryphosa.John and Rebecca Woodall did have a son Samuel born abt.1853 who is not at home on the census but living with his uncle Samuel Russell. That is why I think Samuel may have Russell in his name .Of course he may have Robert or something else for a middle name.
