Hi Carol,
Post on the Glasgow message board to see if anyone has an old map of the area or knows of one. Or has access to an old street directory from the time period when he was discharged. There should be some more detailed information available from that time period. All the cities in the UK had street directories that were published every year.
The Mitchell Library in Glasgow is a good source, that's the city archives:

Some very helpful people on the British Army message board, post there if you want to try to find out any additional information about his regiment, etc., they can at least tell you where to look if they can't give specifics:

Do you have his family information from the 1901 census? It's online. You can post on the 1901 census message board to ask for a lookup, very helpful people there too:
