I know that legally you are correct, my question is more about practice. It seems to me in most writings I have seen they refer to themselves as Irish not English but my great grandfather listed his citizenship as British in his Naturalization application. I was supprised. I don't think he could write and it is possible that the clerk filled it out in a leagally correct way not as a pref. Bob
