My great-grandfather, George Humphreys (Humphries) was born in Arney, Ireland according to Army records.

Could someone please help with the name of the Townland or Parish. I believe Arney is near Enniskillen.

I can't find a townland named 'Arney' anywhere in Ireland. Could it be possible that it was incorrectly spelt due to a misunderstanding of dialect? If you look at "irish townland" in www.google.com you can have a choice of several Fermanagh townlands with 'arney ' in their name.

Arney is in South-Central Fermanagh. The Arney River connects Loch Macnean with the River Erne. There is a very small town of Arney at the intersection of the Arney River and the old road from Enniskillen to Swanlinbar.
I believe there is a post office there.
