I am looking for parents and siblings of Mary Jane Henderson born about 1830 in Enniskillen. She married John Bleakley born about 1825 in Enniskillen.

Also looking for parents and siblings of Anna Henderson born about 1836 in Enniskillen and married to John Elliott born 03 Feb 1828 in Silverhill, Enniskillen.

At this time in History unless you find someone collecting the same family you need to have the Parish Records to trace relationships between a family.

I did a bit of background searching for the different names.

Fermanagh is a difficult place to search as there seems to be about 75 years of missing (on-line) records. A lot of assumptions on my part, because the name Henderson (676) and Elliot (1,344) had so many birth each I started with the name Bleakley (161). Most records seem to only start with Civil Registration in 1864, however, parish records must be somewhere but not online.

Because there are no census surviving from those dates census subtitutes need to be used Tithe's 1820's and Griiffith Valuations 1850's 1862 for Fermanagh. Other records that have survived are the Directories of Ireland. Each large town in each county had a yearly directory and there are some websites that list them. I used only the 1846 Directory as it seemed better than the 1824 and 1881 is too late.

1846 Enniskillen Directory:

William Blakley Painter and Glazier
Blaney Bleakley, a white smith also John and John Jr.
Christopher Bleakley shoe maker
guy Bleakley Main St. Ironmonger

Robert Bleakley, Main St. Spirit and Porter Dealers
John Bleakley, Portora Row Boot and shoe maker
John Bleakley, Darling St. Butcher
Margaret Bleakley, Main St. Milliner and Dressmaker
Mary Ann Bleakley Matron, Union workhouse Cornagrade

Henderson:

These can be seen on www.failteromhat.com which has Griffith Valuations (next email) as well as the
1824 & 1846 Pigot and Slater's Directories.

www.ipg-com + County

There are two bmd databases for bmd in Fermanagh, one has nothing from 1111 to 1819 then 1819+ for the name Henderson, no 1836 for an Anna, the other a total of 676 baptisms, also no Anna 1836; 161 Bleakely all 1864+; Elliot has 1,265 baptisms, from 1832+ only two John in 1833. Also the PILOT for Latter Day Saints www.familysearch.org is found under 'search records' top left main page, drop town menu - click on PILOT, keep as open as possible to get a result, too many for me to go through. Basically time is what is involved in a LDS search, the locations for the History Centers to view the microfilm is on the main page, there will be one relatively close, some charge to bring film in not on file, phone first. Microfilm numbers are found by clicking on the underlined names. Take as many numbers so if there are three possibly Mary Jane Henderson take them all. A birth record will have the father's name, mother's name and maiden name. So eventually you will find sisters and brothers. The best way is to find the parish and see the records in person but that means a trip to Ireland. RC records found at each Parish. Whereas 1899- Protestant records are all kept in one place in Dublin. Easy to access but must be done in person. They have email to inquire what records for Fermanagh they may have. AC

I'm overwhelmed with your great kindness! Thank you so much. Interstingly, you mention some Betty's. I do have 3 Betty's in my line so far. William Alfred Betty (DOB 1875 Enniskillen) married my great aunt Jane Elliott in 1904 in Enniskillen. One of their many children was Maud Florence Henderson Betty born 1905 in Enniskillen.

The Hendersons, Bleakleys, Elliotts and Bettys are all intertwined. I have so much to learn!
