My gg grandfather, Thomas McCafferty, believed to be from Enniskillen, born about 1829/30, is believed to have left Ireland with his parents, possibly Francis & Mary, along with possible brothers, Owen and Michael, for New Brunswick, CA. The surname may have been Mcaffery and later in NB became McCafferty. Thomas's son, George Thomas moved into Maine, USA in 1886 and now we are Americans. Thomas may have also been named George Thomas, but used the name Thomas. If there is anyone researching this name in Ireland or who knows of some McCafferty's in Ennisikillen, plesase contact me.

My great grandmother was Frances McCaffrey and she had an elder sister Jane married James Ferris in Ireland and emmigrated to Grey County Ontario. My G Grandmother was the second wife of James borther Robert.These people came fro mEnniskillen irlenad,I have unsubstantiated info that the
McCaffrey(spelling varies from document to document)women were cousin of Hargreaves who had emmigrated to Toronto.
This family was of Protestant denomination Methodist,Baptist,Latter Day Saints are showing up in our history of Ferris but we have nothing othe Mccaffery women except a couple of pics!
