I am trying to find family of John Anderson born 1828. He joined the Royal Irish Constabulary May 18, 1848 at age 19. He gave his native county as Londonderry. He was recommended by Inspector David Patten who was based in Derry City at that time so John must have lived in or near the city when he applied. The only other information I have is that at the time of the marriageElizabeth (Eliza( Connolly in 1852 (in Thurles, Tipperary - where he was based)he named his father also as John Anderson and that his father was a pensioner.

Does anyone have any connection with this John or any clues as to how to find where he actually came from and his father and family;
