I am looking for information about the family of David Esdale, married to Esther Kilpatrick. They had six children - John (from Kildollah) married to Jane McClintock in Ballyportry in Ballymeany in County Antrim (1856); George, William, Matthew; two daughters, probably Margaret and Jean.
The father, David, supposedly died in a parade; the widow and all but daughter Jean emigrated to and settled in Ontario Canada sometime during the 1860's.
I have found a lot about this family in Canada; I would like to find more information about this family in Ireland.
Can anyone tell me the best way to pursue information on this Presbyterian family in County Derry? I think their residence was in the Bann Valley not far from Colerain as far as I have been able to puzzle it out.
