My grandfather was born in Stradbally in 1888.
His parents were Martin Dunne and Mary Scully.
His siblings were:
Martin Dunne jr. dob: May 23, 1880 in Inch, Laioghis
Mary Dunne
and Margaret Mary.
There may have been other siblings Brigit, Basil or Katherine? - one sibling died in Belgium with her children in a concentration camp - her husband was in the underground and was caught and killed - confirmed by the Red Cross after the war.
My grandfather talked of the family farm they had for several generations and of fishing on the River Leif.
When his father Martin died none of his siblings wanted to continue farming. Martin JR's daughter Mary Anne and her husband took over the farm.
His mother Mary Dunne (Scully) died around 1915 or 1916.
