Classification: Query
Surnames: TIERNEY DELANEY DELANY
Catherine DELANEY and sister Ellen DELANEY went to Australia on the 'BEE' in 1856 to meet up with cousins in Sydney, Anne and Mary TIERNEY.
Anne and Mary TIERNEY were children of John TIERNEY and ANN DELANEY, who both d. before 1856. In 1856, the remaining TIERNEY siblings went to Australia on the 'DAVID MCIVER' - Michael, Ellen, Patrick, Timothy, Johanna and Honora - to meet up with Anne and Mary.
It is possible that their mother, Ann DELANEY TIERNEY, was the sister of Andrew DELANEY, deceased father of Catherine and Ellen DELANEY. The mother was possibly Catherine CORMACK.
I have a brick wall.
I cannot find a birth/christening for Catherine or Ellen DELANEY, c.1835-1838, nor can I find a marriage of Andrew DELANEY and Catherine CORMACK, or deaths/burials.
As the DELANEY and TIERNEY connection is confirmed, locating the TIERNEY church records would probably lead to the DELANEY location also, but I cannot find that info. I've tried IGI etc.
Can anyone help? I'd appreciate it!
