Help - the Longford area
I am trying to gather information on my Grandmother's family and am having a hard time as Irish information seems a bit tricky to find especially when you know very little in the first place! I have found a memoriam card with Drumlish listed as the place of residence and my father thinks that his mother came from the actual town of Longford - now I understand that there is a town called Longford as well as the actual county? Now, if I am correct - does anyone know how close Longford and Drumlish are to each other?
Also, does anyone know of the famous greyhound, Mick the Miller? My father thinks she was from the area he was born. Does anyone know where that was? I've been looking on the internet and all I can see is 'Ireland'.
