I fully agree with Alex's suggestion of searching at the well-known and trusted site:
www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk/ They will have this document viewable for 1 Pound
Sterling [the equivalent of 6 total credits of their 30 credit allowance costing 6
Pounds Sterling, 1 credit for the index listing and another 5 for the download]. The names of both parents for bride and groom along with their ages [stated ages, not proven] will be seen which will lead you go backwards one more generation on the same site. Finding the births of both bride and groom may get you back far enough to use the IGI online for free [1855-1875] or you may still need to search at ScotlandsPeople to find the parents of your couple. Downloading & Viewing the actual birth Registrations will tell you the date, and place of the marriage of the birth-parents along with the place & time of the child's birth and an Informant's name. The IGI is free but only gives child's name, parent's names and the date / place of the birth. No informants or date / place for the marriage of the parents are found. You will become as addicted to this database as most of us....good luck in your searches !
