If you have any relatives left that still live there, no matter how distant (you can always call them cousins)you are allowed to visit them. Before, under
Bush you were only allowed one visit every three years and only to visit immediate family (mother, son, sister, etc) but now you are allowed to visit as many times as you want and it does not have to be immediate family. I can get you all the information you need to arrange a trip. It is really quite an experience. I had not been back since 1961, when I left, and went back for the first time in 2003 before
Bush tighten up the restrictions.
Fortunately (from my point of view) Trinidad has not changed that much from the way I remembered it. It still is a sleepy old colonial town with cobblestone streets and wonderful old houses. I still have a lot of cousins that live there, so if you go you won't feel like stranger.
