Clara M. Beatty, 73, a resident of the City of Poughkeepsie since 1970 and formerly of New York City, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Beatty was a seamstress for Gladmore Cleaners in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1990. Born in Cuba on July 4, 1930, she was the daughter of Anastacio and Sophia Sanchez. On Sept. 27, 1982 in Houston, TX, she married Ronald E. Beatty. Mr. Beatty survives at home. In addition to her husband, survivors include brothers, Rene Sanchez of Miami, Fla., and Elvis Sanchez of Cuba; a cousin, Gina Sanchez of Hialeha, Fla.; and one nephew. Services will be private. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
