Yes, Manuel my Cofresi roots are from the east part of Puerto Rico... Our family came from Cabo Rojo and settled in Humacao... All of this is confirmed in the tax collections of Humacao... The most amazing thing is the Juan Gracisco moved to the Eastern part of the island to sale and run slaves... This is how the family got to the Eastern part of Puerto Rico... Dr. Acosta confirms in her finding that she did notice that there were Cofresi family in that area but did not know the relation... Thanks to my family and those new cousins that I have found in my research we put it all together... We were able to link my grandfather Gilberto Cofresi to his father Miguel Cofresi and then to his grandfather Jose Miguel Cofresi Herrera (b. 1854) and the rest is in Dr. Acostas book it mention there that a Ramon Cofresi Valines married Manuela Herrera... This proved to be true and his father was none other then the famous Roberto Cofresi's brother Juan Francisco COFRESI RAMIREZ DE ARELLANO and his mother Juana Balines Valines (Balines) Sanabria... This find confirms that the Cofresi's of the east are direct releatives to the Pirate... I dedicate my findings to those families in the East (Cofresi) and especially to my grandfather who passed away Sgt. Gilberto Cofresi and American Hero...
