I am looking for more information on my father's family. I think this is tough because my father was a black Puerto Rican and most of the Ayala's I have meet are White hispanics. I know my father's family is from Loiza, PR. They moved to Carolina, PR i believe. I dont know the time periods or anything, I just know that he is about 47+/- right now. I also know that the name comes from Spain, but since we are dark skinned it was probably given (instead of inherited) to my ancestors who were slaves. Any other Dark Skinned Ayala's please let me know what you have found! Or anyone else who can help. Thanks!

My friend 's father-in-law is a Black Ayala. His name is Juan Ayala and he currently lives in PR, Ithey are not sure what town he is from. He left his wife when his son was young and they've had no contact with him since. They don't know his whereabouts. He's in his early 50's. Any connections? let me know jaja52@excite.com

Is it a possibility that the name should be Bayala vs. Ayala? Bayala originates from the Canary Islands and Grenada Spain, however many of my family members are black Puerto Ricans because we intermarried. I know that my family is Bayala and we have family that lived in Loiza.
