Sorry to butt in on this but my mother was adopted from Athens Greece in 1960 her grandfathers name was John Kourbelis and her mothers name was Eugenia Kourbelis. I've tried alot to find info on them but not much comes up for the name Kourbelis. well thanks for your time

Kyla

Hi Kyla,

Do you know if your mom is originally from Athens for another area of Greece? Where are you from? I'm wondering if any of the Kourbelis' settled in Australia because I cannot find any in the U.S.

Our family settled in the U.S. We know little about the Kourbelis family other than Bessie (my grandmother) and Efeteria are the daughters of Katherine and Michael Kourbelis.

I don't have much info either. My husband's grandmother was Bessie Kourbelis and she had a sister named Effiteria Kourbelis. Effiteria married John Karabelas first, and then John Karabelas's 2nd wife was Bessie Kourbelis. I have Bessie and Effiteria parents listed as Mike and Kaleope Kourbelis. Maybe it's possible that Mike Kourbelis had a brother.

Hope hear from you soon.

Take Care,
Mickey

How exciting that you found relatives on this site. I am looking for Nikolakopoulos from Kakaletri so I thought I would tag on your message. Nikos married Vasiliki Mixopoulou and they were born 1905 +_5yrs. Nikos was killed by the local rebels after WW2.

I'll post seperately also.

Vicki (Vasiliki of course)
