Searching for ancestors of William Smith WOOD (1833-1912) and his wife, Miranda WANNAMAKER (1836-1920). Who were their parents and from where did they come before living in Ameliasburg? What was William's occupation? Any info. would be appreciated.

I can find no evidence that William Smith WOOD ever lived in Prince Edward County.
The 1871 Census of Ontario, Northumberland East, Percy F 3, p 8 National Archives Film C-9986:
WOOD William S Male age 38 B. Ont Wes. Meth. Farmer
The death Registration from the National Archives should provide more information, and possibly the names of his parents.
The Trenton library has indexed obituarys from the local papers, as does the Belleville library
Unfortunately, living in the wilds of New York, I do not have access to these records.

I dont know if this helps and its a long time passing but the Wood family that intermarried with my Sniders back in 1830 Lennox and Addington County were Mormans who were directly preached to by Brigham Young and Joseph Smith. They moved to Illinois and then to Utah. Very prominent in Morman church history. My ancestoral aunt was Mary Wood (nee snider) and she became mother or grandmother to one of their prophets apparently. I dont know I'm not Morman but the history is there.
