Classification: Query
Surnames: Ferguson, Young
I am a descendant of Henry Young & Mary Lisjer. They were the first settlers on East Lake. Their daughter, Mary Young, b. 6 Oct 1770 m. Jonathan Ferguson and had: William, Jonathan, Henry, Anna, Elizabeth, Margaret & Hannah. Mary d. abt 1850 in Prince Edward Co. The latter information comes
from Pioneer Life on the Bay of Quinte.
The 1798 Assessment of Hallowell has "Jonathan Farguson, Jr. First Class Rated (2.6)" I do not know if this is the husband of Mary or their son.
A 1784 map of East Lake called "Strothers 1784 Map of Marysburgh" shows the names of the initial settlers distributed around the lake. Jonathan Ferguson is shown on the south side as are a Richard Ferguson and Farrington
Ferguson. There is also Richard Ferguson on the north side. Presumably these Fergusons families are related.
