While working on the Terry Tree, I have decided to seek information on the above.
Burgess had a Veterinary Practice in Consecon certainly during
the 1940's and at the time he would likely have been in his mid 50's. When he was working, he usually wore a shoulder brace - the corner of which could be seen under his sweater. He was divorced and we do not recall if he had children. I do recall that he spoke of a Pauline but do not know the official connection. As well,
Burgess did appreciate a fine beverage!
He was related to my Grandmother (presuming first cousin), Ida May
Walt Terry 1877-1957, whose Mother was Margaret Elizabeth
Weeks Walt. My Grandmother kept house for him for about 8-10 years and lived in
Burgess' home with her husband Frank Terry (1871-1941) after they left their farm in
Murray Township.
I have found a
Burgess Weeks in the 1901 Census in
Athol and
Hillier in Pr. Ed. Co. As well, one of the
Weeks Family sites reports the name
Burgess in several places - Is there a connection here?
As well, I have read the Board messages from Feb. 2002 titled '
Kingston Ontario Canada
Weeks.'
Any help and direction for
Burgess and Margaret
Weeks Walt would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dianne
