Searching for information on a David and Ellen HUGHS who had a son named John Lane HUGHS born in Marysburgh c. 1851. Other children were David Wilson HUGHS, George HUGHS and Synthia HUGHS. David and Ellen moved to Denbigh, Lennox and Addington County c. 1860, where he became first postmaster and township clerk. Ellen's maiden name may have been Lane

Frances Theresa Mintz, b 13 Aug 1834, S Marysburg, ON, d 13 Mar 1917, Black River, ON. daughter of Isaac Mintz and Lavina Collier. Lavina was the daughter of Peter Collier and Elizabeth Hicks.
Her first husband was Daniel David Snider b 1832 d 31 Mar 1875 S Marysburg. son of Daniel Snider and Eva Dulmage.
I am descended from her brother James.

Re: 1849 marriage between David Hughes and Eleanor Lane- can you be more specific as to the source? There is one family tree on AWT which is my cousins and he has them married circa 1849. I have never seen the Dec. date before- I believe you- just hoping you can recollect where you found it. Also looking for the names of Eleanor's parents.

Sorry, Phil. I cannot find this marriage on Mary Crandalls website.

I would not put down a full date unless I obtained it from a written record. The Belleville Public Library has computer print outs of all the recorded marriages in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. My notes are packed away and it may be a couple of months before I can get to them. If you can't find it by then, let me know. Good luck, and rest assured that the date is recorded, I just have to find where I got it from.
